Book a Fitting Appointment: Schedule and confirm a fitting appointment at our store at Chic Glam Closet.
Reserve: Pay for the rental to secure your reservation.
Wear: Pick up your dress or have it delivered, and enjoy wearing it to your event.
Return: Return the dress on the agreed-upon date. Dry cleaning is on us!
Do you have a store where I can try outfits on?
Yes! Visit our store to try on outfits and find your perfect fit before renting. Check our website for store locations and hours.
Do I have to book an appointment before renting a dress?
Yes! We have a fabulous boutique in Calgary, Alberta, located in the heart of the city.
How long can I rent an item for?
Our standard rental period is 2 days (48 hours). Extended rentals are available upon request for an additional fee.
How far in advance should I book?
It's best to book your rental at least 1 to 2 weeks in advance to ensure availability, especially if you’re looking for popular styles or planning for a special event.
For high-demand seasons (like prom, weddings, or holidays), it’s even smarter to book 3 to 4 weeks ahead to secure your favourite look. This also allows time for fittings and styling.
How do I find a specific item or designer I want to rent?
Use our search bar to filter by item type, designer, size, or occasion. You can also browse by category or collection for inspiration.
Is there a limit to the number of items I can rent?
If you're renting with us for the first time, we kindly ask that you limit your selection to two rental pieces. This allows us to ensure a smooth experience for all our new clients.
Once you've returned these items—either in-store or through our complimentary Calgary-area pickup service - you'll be welcome to explore more of our collection for future rentals, subject to availability.
What is the inspection process?
- Pre-Pickup Inspection: Dresses are inspected and photographed before rental, and photos are shared with you for reference.
- Return Inspection: Upon return, the dress is inspected for damages or stains. Customers will receive an inspection report documenting the condition of the dress.
Pricing & Payments
How much does it cost to rent a dress?
The cost depends on the dress you choose. Rental fees are a fraction of the retail price and include professional dry cleaning.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit card payments only. For all bookings, full payment is required at the time of reservation.
Will my credit card be stored on file?
Yes, your card will be securely stored on file as security deposits are not required.
We use encrypted, PCI-compliance and authorization systems to protect your payment information, and your data is never shared or used without your authorization.
Storing your card helps ensure smooth billing for returns, late fees, or add-ons, if applicable.
Why is there an additional charge on my credit/debit card?
The additional charge may occur as customers are responsible for reimbursing Chic Glam Closet for any reasonable expenses incurred in the provision of services (e.g., repair costs for damages, price differences, or recovery fees for non-returns).
Damage Protection Insurance
What is Damage Protection Insurance?
The Damage Protection Insurance is designed to cover minor accidental damages that can occur during normal wear and tear.
Is Damage Protection Insurance mandatory?
No, the insurance is optional, but we highly recommend it for all rentals to ensure a worry-free experience.
What does the Damage Protection Insurance cover?
For $15, our Damage Protection Insurance covers minor accidental damages, such as:
- Small stains (e.g., food or soda spills, make up)
- Snags or loose threads
- Minor fabric or zipper repairs

What if the damage exceeds the coverage?
In cases of major damage not covered by the insurance, you will be charged a repair or replacement fee based on the severity of the issue.
What is not covered by Damage Protection Insurance?
- Permanent or stubborn stains (e.g., red wine, ink, or bleach)
- Major damages that render the dress unwearable
- Loss, theft, or alterations made to the dress

Can I add insurance after placing my order?
Unfortunately, Damage Protection Insurance must be selected at reservation and cannot be added later.
Does the insurance cover accessories?
No, the insurance applies only to dresses. Accessories are not included in this coverage.
Late & Lost Items
Is there a penalty fee for a late return?
Yes, late returns are charged a daily fee.
- $30 per day fee will apply for each day the dress is late.
- After 2 days, your credit card will be charged the full retail price of the dress.

What if I lose my rental?
If you lose your rental, you will be charged up to the full retail value of the item.
Cancellations & Modifications
Can I cancel my reservation?
Yes, you may cancel or modify your reservation up to 24 hours before your reserved time. Cancellations are non-refundable but will be issued as store credit for future rentals.
What if I want to switch my dress?
You can exchange your booked dress for a different one up to 24 hours before your pickup or shipping date, subject to availability. Any price differences will be adjusted.
Will I be charged for cancelling a rental?
A cancellation fee does not apply. However, dress rental cancellations are non-refundable, and a store credit will be issued for future rentals.
Garment Care
Do I need to clean the dress before returning it?
No, professional cleaning is included in your rental fee. Just return the dress as is, in its original packaging, and we’ll handle the dry cleaning.
What happens if I damage a rental?
If there is extensive damage (beyond repair), you will be charged up to the full retail value of the rental, minus any damage protection you purchased.
Can I alter the dress to fit better?
No alterations are permitted, including temporary hemming. Any alterations made by the customer will require professional repairs at your expense.
Some general garment care tips?
- Be Mindful of Fabrics – Each fabric has unique needs.
- Protect the Hemline – For maxi & floor-length dresses, avoid dragging by lifting the hem on stairs or wet surfaces.
- Avoid Permanent Stains – Keep away from things that can cause permanent damage to fabric.
- Prevent Stains & Odors – Apply makeup, perfume, and lotions before putting on your dress.
- No DIY Cleaning – If a stain occurs, do not attempt to wash or treat it - return the dress as-is, and our professional cleaners will handle it.
Delivery & Returns
What is the return policy?
All dresses must be returned on or before the agreed return date. Late returns incur a $30 per day fee.
If the dress is not returned within 2 days after the return date, your credit card will be charged the full retail price.
When will my rental be delivered?
Your rental will be delivered on your chosen start date before 6pm.
Can I collect and return in-store?
Yes, you can opt to collect and return your items at our store.
How do I return my rental?
Simply pack the rental in the original packaging, wait for pick up or return it to our store.
My rental hasn’t arrived. What do I do?
Oh no! If your rental hasn't arrived by 6 PM on the start date, please reach out to us immediately. You can contact us via email, text, or phone. We're here to assist you and ensure you receive your rental promptly.
What happens if I’m not in to accept the delivery?
If you’re unavailable, the courier will leave a note with instructions for redelivery or pickup from a nearby location.
How do I change my delivery address?
Need your rental delivered to a different address? No worries — here’s how to make it happen:
- More than 2 days before your rental starts: Please contact us to make changes to your delivery address. This ensures we can promptly process your request and confirm the new details with you.
- 2 days before your rental starts: Since it's close to your rental start date, please contact us directly via email, phone, or text to request the address change.
- Once your rental period has started: modifications to the address can no longer be made.
Do you do next-day delivery?
Yes, next-day delivery is available. Orders must be placed before 12 PM, the previous day.
